Fans shower praise on Vodacom, EATV

Music stakeholders in the country have expressed their appreciation to Vodacom and East Africa Television (EATV), for successful coordination of Dance 100% competition.

Held on Saturday last week, the competition’s semi-finals saw five groups cruising into the finals.

The competition involved ten groups which were able to make to quarter-finals attracting attention of a great deal of city residents who turned out to watch young dancers at Don Bosco grounds in Dar es Salaam
‘As one of the music fans who have come to watch these competitions, I have enjoyed and learn a lot. I have been specifically attracted by extra ordinary dancing skills displayed by these young dancers,” said city resident, Ramadhani Malenge ‘Ramso’.

Malenge said the young dancers displayed outstanding skills in dancing a situation which vividly gave a hard time to the judges.

He noted that, even those who ended in semi finals displayed extra ordinary skill urging them to keep on working for their talents.

Malenge who introduced himself as a ‘crazy’ music fan said it was real a hard work to judge which group was the best, since they all displayed outstanding performance.

He said, programs involving of promotion of youth talents are very important as they give chance for youth to display their hidden talents and also to learn from others expressing his appreciation to EATV and Vodacom for remarkable sponsorship
He further noted that, the judges at the Don Bosco grounds will have a tough work to choose who the best is during the finals since all the groups are well prepared, competent and formidable.


The groups which were able to make to the finals include Wazawa Crew, Best Boys Crew, The W.T, Wakali Sisi and The Winners Crew.

Another thrilled fan who introduced herself as Blandina Kingu ‘Queen B’, apart from expressing her appreciation for the competition idea, she suggested that nomination should be done in all the regions before the finals in Dar es Salaam.

Happy Shame who is competition coordinator acknowledged the existence of stiff competition adding that the competition has been getting popularity year after year.

‘This is the third year that we are running this competition under sponsorship from Vodacom Tanzania. However, this time popularity is far away from previous years and in lot of talented young dancers have taken part,’ she said
She said, the group that will emerge the winner in the competition which is aired by EATV every Wednesday at 7:00pm will walk away with cash price worth 5m/-.

Vodacom Tanzania public relation manager Matina Nkurlu congratulated all the contesters and encouraged those who couldn’t make to the finals.

‘Vodacom believes that, youths are development catalyst in different sectors if they are prepared and empowered. Our sponsorship to this competition goes in line with that concept. This is an opportunity for youths to display their talents and get a chance to be seen and recognised and in the future they can be employed through their talents,’ he said.

He urged Dar es Salaam residents to turn out in good number in the finals adding that they will also enjoy Vodacom products in the likes of modem and Samsung E1205 that will be sold at 25,000/- only.
