MLS Side Orlando City are reportedly lining up an £8m deal for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, and hope to complete the deal within the next two weeks.
Mexican striker Hernandez, nicknamed ‘Chicharito’ which translates as Little Pea, has seemingly fallen out of favour with manager Louis Van Gaal.
Hernandez spent last season on in Spain, with Real Madrid, and isn’t seen to be set to feature in Van Gaal’s plans to bring glory back to Old Trafford.
Liverpool are also thought to be keen on Hernandez, who is entering the final year of his contract with the Red Devils.
However, Orlando boss Flavio Augusto da Silva confirmed their pursuit of the 27-year-old, and claims negotiations are at an early stage and the Florida-based franchise hope to have the deal completed within the next two weeks.
“Regarding Chicharito, of course he’s a that every club in the world would love to have and we’d love the chance to have him,” Da Silva told the Orlando Sentinel.
“Right now we don’t have anything done, and you know during the process of negotiations the less we talk about it the better.
“So we’ll see if there is a possibility and then we’ll move forward.
“We hope in one or two weeks to be ready to talk about Chicharito in a different way.”
